Creating a Learning Path

This feature is available to users with the Course Manager role. See Roles

A Learning Path allows you to combine multiple existing courses into an organized, step-by-step curriculum that learners complete as a single training program.

This guide walks you through the steps to create and configure a learning path.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  • Step 1 - Access the Learning Paths Section

From the Management navigation menu, select Learning Paths (or navigate to Content Management > Learning Paths). Click the + Create new learning path button.

  • Step 2 - Define Learning Path Details

Fill in the core attributes for your curriculum:

    • Title: Enter a clear, descriptive title for the learning path (must be unique among active learning paths).
    • Description: Outline the objectives, target audience, and expected outcomes of the curriculum.
    • Category: Optionally assign the learning path to a category to organize it in the learner catalog alongside courses.
    • Estimated Duration: Provide the estimated total time required for learners to complete all courses in the path.
    • Enforce Sequence: Check this option if learners must complete the courses in strict order (each subsequent course unlocks only after the previous course is completed).
    • Requires Assignment: Check this option to make the learning path accessible only to learners who are explicitly assigned to it. If unchecked, the path is available as optional learning for all learners.
    • Completion Timeline: Define how much time (e.g., 30 days, 6 weeks) learners have to complete the learning path once enrolled.
    • Thumbnail: Upload an optional cover image. The system will automatically generate standard display sizes for course cards and detail views.
  • Step 3 - Add Member Courses

Once the learning path is created, add existing courses to build the curriculum:

    1. In the Courses section of the learning path details, click Add Course.
    2. Select published or draft courses from your catalog to include.
    3. Use drag-and-drop or position controls to arrange courses in the desired learning order.
    4. You can remove a course at any time. When a course is removed, the remaining courses will automatically renumber to maintain a continuous sequence.
  • Step 4 - Finalize and Publish

Review the composed courses and verify that at least one member course is published.

Click Publish to make the learning path active and visible to learners in the catalog.

Publishing Requirement

A learning path requires at least one published member course before it can be published. Unpublished courses inside a path will not be visible to learners until those courses are published individually.

Completion Tracking

Learners make progress on a learning path as they complete each published member course. Once every published course in the path is complete, the learning path is marked as 100% completed.
