Two-Factor Authentication & Security
This feature is available to All Users (Learners and Administrators).
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your IngenuitiLMS account by requiring a time-based verification code from your mobile authenticator app whenever you log in.
Enabling Two-Factor Authentication
- Navigate to Profile > Security (or Two-Factor Authentication).
- For security, confirm your current LMS password when prompted.
- Open your preferred authenticator app on your smartphone (such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy).
- Scan the QR code displayed on the LMS screen (or manually enter the provided setup key).
- Enter the 6-digit numeric verification code shown in your authenticator app and click Enable.
Managing Recovery Codes
When 2FA is enabled, the system generates a set of single-use Recovery Backup Codes:
- Store these codes in a secure location (e.g., a password manager).
- If you lose access to your mobile phone or authenticator app, you can enter any unused recovery code on the login screen to access your account.
- You can click Regenerate Recovery Codes in your security settings at any time. Generating new codes immediately invalidates all previous backup codes.
Disabling 2FA
You can disable Two-Factor Authentication at any time from your security settings by confirming your password and clicking Disable Two-Factor Authentication.
