Getting Started: Learners

Welcome to the Getting Started guide designed specifically for Learners of IngenuitiLMS. This section aims to equip you with the essential tools and knowledge to navigate your educational journey smoothly and effectively within our platform. Whether you're new to online learning or transitioning from another system, this guide will help you start strong and get the most out of your learning experience.

Account Creation and Logging In

First, your LMS administrator will create your user account for you. When this happens, you will either receive an automated notification from our system via email (or SMS), or you will be provided your account credentials from your administrator directly.

Then, to access any content within the LMS, you will need to login into your account.

  • Navigate to the login page.
  • Enter your registered identifier, email, or phone number
  • Enter your password and click "Log In".
  • Once logged in, you will be directed to your learner dashboard.

The first time you log into the system, you will be required to change your password and accept the terms of use.

Your dashboard is the central hub for all your learning activities. Here’s a quick overview of its key components:

Required Learning Access a list of courses and multi-course learning paths you have been assigned to and are required to complete, ordered by urgency and due date.

Optional Learning Shows a list of optional courses and learning paths available for self-paced exploration. You may access these at any time.

Completed Learning Displays all courses and learning paths you have successfully completed.

All three sections display your progress percentage, assignment date, and due date. Click on any course or learning path title to launch your learning.

Accessing Courses & Learning Paths

The course details page contains overview information and an activity outline for the selected course:

  • Activities: Each activity is an individual lesson (Video, PDF, external link, or SCORM module). As you complete activities, your course progress bar updates automatically.
  • Learning Paths: When enrolled in a learning path, completing individual member courses automatically rolls up into your overall curriculum progress.
  • Sequence Enforcement: Your instructor or course manager may require activities or courses to be completed in sequence. In this case, subsequent lessons remain locked until prior lessons are finished.

Tip

Use the Continue course or Continue learning path button at the top of the details page to immediately resume from where you left off.

Viewing and Completing Activities

IngenuitiLMS supports multiple learning formats:

  • SCORM packages: Interactive e-learning modules. Progress, bookmarking, and quiz scores are saved automatically as you navigate the module.
  • Videos: Direct file uploads or YouTube/Vimeo streams. To mark a video complete, watch it through to the end.
  • PDFs: Documents displayed in the built-in browser reader. If permitted by your administrator, you can also download a copy for offline reference.
  • Hyperlinks: External learning resources and articles. Marked complete immediately upon launching the link.

Managing Your Account & Preferences

You can customize your personal experience from your Profile & Account Settings:

  • Interface Language: Choose your preferred display language from 6 supported options (English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, or Simplified Chinese).
  • Notification Preferences: Manage delivery channels for assignment alerts and deadline reminders (Email, SMS text messaging, and Mobile Push device pairing).
  • Account Security: Protect your account by enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) with your mobile authenticator app and managing active browser sessions.
  • Connected Accounts: View or manage external Single Sign-On (SSO) accounts linked to your profile.
