Profile & User Preferences

This feature is available to All Users (Learners, Instructors, and Administrators).

Every user on the platform has access to a personal Account Settings area to manage profile details, change passwords, select interface language, manage notification channels, and review connected sign-in methods.

Accessing Account Settings

Click on your profile avatar or name in the top-right corner of the LMS navigation header and select Profile or Account Settings.

Profile Information & Password

  • Personal Information: Update your display name, username identifier, email address, and mobile phone number.
  • Change Password: Enter your current password, followed by your new password (minimum 12 characters recommended) and confirmation.

Language & Localization Preferences

IngenuitiLMS supports 6 interface languages. You can switch your preferred display language at any time:

  1. In your profile settings (or from the language dropdown in the navigation menu), choose your desired language:
    • English (US)
    • Español (US) — Spanish
    • Deutsch — German
    • Français — French
    • Italiano — Italian
    • 简体中文 — Simplified Chinese
  2. The platform interface, buttons, system messages, and email notifications will automatically render in your selected language.

Notification Preferences & Channels

You can customize how and where you receive course assignments, completion notices, and deadline reminders:

  • Email Notifications: Enabled by default for all users. Toggle on or off to manage general course communication.
  • SMS Notifications: If your mobile phone is on file and you have provided SMS consent, you can receive automated text messages for course assignments and deadline reminders.

Connected Sign-In Methods (SSO)

The Connected Accounts section displays external Single Sign-On providers (such as Okta, Google, or Microsoft) linked to your LMS login:

  • Viewing Linked Accounts: See which external accounts are authorized to log into your profile.
  • Unlinking Accounts: Click Unlink next to any external provider to disconnect it.

Sign-In Safeguard

To protect you from accidental account lockout, the system will not permit unlinking your last remaining external provider unless you have a valid password set on your LMS account.
