Enrolling Users
This feature is available to users with the Content Manager role. See Roles
This guide will walk you through the two primary methods for enrolling users in your courses: direct assignment and group linking. These flexible options allow you to manage enrollment efficiently, whether you are working with individuals or groups of learners.
Direct Assignment
Direct assignment involves enrolling individual users into specific courses manually. This option is ideal when you need to enroll a small number of users or when you want to selectively assign specific courses to specific users.
To assign learners to a course manually you should:
- Go to the Course Details page for the course you want to assign.
- Click on the Learners button
- On the assigned learners screen, click on + Assign Learners
- On the modal pop-up you will be able to select the users to assign, and override the completion timeline (optional).
The selected users will now be assigned to the course and will be able to access it immediately.
Group Linking
Group linking allows you to enroll groups of users into a course automatically. This is particularly useful for larger organizations or classes where students are grouped based on certain criteria.
To use group linking you should:
- Go to the Course Details page for the course you want to assign.
- Click on the + Link group option at the bottom of the page.
-
On the modal pop-up you will be able to select the group or groups to be linked.
There are two additional options to select when linking the group:
-
Assign current group members to the course (checked by default): This option ensures that any current members of the group will be enrolled into the course. If unchecked, only learners added to the group from this moment will be automatically enrolled.
-
Removal rules: This option determines what happens to the course assignment if a user is removed from the group. By default, enrollment is maintained even when a user is removed from a group.
-
From the Linked groups section, you can remove any existing group links.
