Activity Versioning

Activities are the core learning components available in the IngenuitiLMS. One course is composed of multiple activities.

Activity versioning allows content managers to manage and track course content systematically. This feature not only ensures the quality and consistency of content but also allows for flexibility in managing updates, corrections, and customizations.

Adding a version to an existing activity

The process to add a new version to an existing activity is the same as when adding content to a newly created activity.

To add a new version, content managers can select the Update option for an activity from the Activity List section on the Course Details page. From the update page, the Add version button will guide you through the process.

Note

The activity type is selected when creating the first version and cannot be changed. If you need to change the type, this can be done by creating a new activity and then de-activating the current, now outdated activity.

  • Rollback Capabilities: Content managers can revert to previous versions of an activity if needed. This ensures that any errors or unintended changes can be easily corrected by switching back to an earlier state.

  • Version Comparison: IngenuitiLMS allows content managers to compare different versions. Using the preview functionaly, you can identify which version to revert to.

  • Content Integrity: Activity versioning ensures that all learners receive the correct and most accurate information, with the ability to fix errors or update content as needed.

    When adding new versions, you will be able to manage what do with learners that are already started the activity, or that completed the activity but have not finalized the course.

    Note

    Learners that have completed the course will not have their progress affected by changes to the activities.
